International Law Practice

International

A significant feature of his practice has been its international character and reach. He has advised and appeared in many cases involving disputes in different jurisdictions and legal systems. He has also led Trade Missions on behalf of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry to a number of major cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Johannesburg and Cape Town. This has given him a close insight into trading relations between the UK and overseas. He has expert knowledge of the law of international trade and investment and private international law.

Australia

He was admitted as a legal practitioner in New South Wales and appointed Senior Counsel. He is a member of Selborne-Wentworth Chambers, Sydney. Its former members have included Dyson Heydon (former Justice of the High Court of Australia), John Spigelman and John Bathurst (both former Chief Justices of the Supreme Court of New South Wales) and Justice Sackar (currently Justice of the Supreme Court of New South Wales).

Robert’s Australian cases include advising and representing the Australian magnate, Kerry Packer and the Packer Foundation in a series of controversial multinational disputes involving broadcasting and internet rights.
